Thanks to its state-of-the-art infrastructure and first class services, the Puerto Vallarta International Convention Center is positioned as a world-class venue for meeting tourism.
Designed and built by the Government of the State of Jalisco in 2009, the Puerto Vallarta International Convention Center has provided the destination with a state-of-the-art infrastructure that has allowed it to host major events such as congresses, conventions, exhibitions, concerts, among others, consolidating it as an important venue in Mexico.
Proof of this was hosting the XIII Presidential Summit of the Pacific Alliance on July 23 and 24. An event that required months of preparation and that, thanks to the great work team of the International Convention Center, turned out to be a complete success.
Thanks to the technological restructuring and distribution of networks within the venue, the general equipment of its facilities, the renovation of its furniture and the quality of its services, the Puerto Vallarta International Convention Center has positioned itself as a first class venue for professionals of the meeting tourism industry.
Due to the facilities in terms of capacity, security, logistics and adaptation, it was qualified as a venue for an event of such magnitude as this Presidential Summit.
Within the framework of the XIII Presidential Summit of the Pacific Alliance, the International Convention Center of Puerto Vallarta welcomed Heads of State Sebastián Piñera of Chile; Juan Manuel Santos of Colombia; Enrique Peña Nieto, President of Mexico; and Martín Vizcarra of Peru. Also the President of Brazil, Michel Temer; of Uruguay, Tabaré Vázquez; the Secretary of Foreign Affairs of Argentina, Daniel Raimondi; and the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Paraguay, Federico González, who are part of the Mercosur bloc.
The venue also welcomed more than 250 high-level businessmen from Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru. In addition, 56 ministers from observer states and candidates for associate states and more than 50 government officials from the four countries of the alliance attended.
The Pacific Alliance is a regional economic integration platform that seeks to promote and foster growth, development and competitiveness by increasing the free movement of goods, services, capital and people among these countries, reaffirming and consolidating trade.
Currently, the Pacific Alliance represents the eighth largest economy in the world and accounts for 38% of total GDP and 50% of total trade in Latin America.
The hard work of the great team of the Puerto Vallarta International Convention Center behind the organization of this event has been reflected in the comments of all the attendees. Heads of State, ministers, chancellors and high diplomatic officials have highlighted the facilities granted during the event. Mention was made of the facilities, the capacity of the rooms in which plenary sessions, bilateral meetings, press rooms and even dining rooms for the Heads of State and Government were held.
Puerto Vallarta consolidates once again as the most important meeting point on the Mexican Pacific coast. It has become the port of reference in the region thanks to its infrastructure, modernity and air, sea and land connectivity. As well as for its great hotel offer and world-class venues such as the Puerto Vallarta International Convention Center.
