CICPV expects to exceed revenues in 2019 and is committed to sustainability

Thirteen years after starting operations, the CICPV is committed to a culture of sustainability and to the use of renewable energies.

Magaly Fregoso Ortiz, director of the International Convention Center of Puerto Vallarta (CICPV) emphasized that the venue is in full recovery with the return to one hundred percent of on-site events after the covid-19 pandemic.

According to data presented to the media, in 2019 there were 36 events with a revenue for the destination of 864 million pesos, while so far in 2022 there have been 31 events with a revenue of more than 592 million pesos, a figure that could increase due to the events confirmed for the rest of the year and those that could materialize in the near future.

Accompanied by the director of the Trust for the Promotion of Puerto Vallarta, Luis Villaseñor Nolasco, the director of the precinct mentioned that in 2019 36 events were held with a total of 109,765 visitors, which generated 11 million 647 thousand pesos for the precinct.

In the year 2020, the period in which the pandemic emerged, the number of events decreased to 27, particularly governmental events, with 53 thousand participants and an economic benefit of 854 million pesos for the destination.

And although in 2021 the pandemic did its thing, the fairgrounds hosted 32 events, which attracted 41,185 visitors and generated an economic revenue of 254 million pesos.

Fregoso Ortiz pointed out that so far in 2022, 31 events have been held, with 53 thousand visitors and an economic revenue of 592 million pesos, emphasizing that May has been the month with the highest number of events, and that 8 events have already been confirmed for the following months.

On the other hand, the director of the fairground indicated that starting in 2019 they have bet on investing in the culture of sustainability and have taken measures such as: eliminating and avoiding the use of plastics, use of containers for recycling pet, change of saving light bulbs and change of air conditioners.

Finally, Magaly Fregoso acknowledged the work of journalists and urged them to continue exercising the free exercise of journalism, since it strengthens a well-informed society, prepares it to make better decisions and proposes different approaches.
